Sears Outlet is a large outlet store chain that caries a wide variety of appliances and other home products that are discounted 20%-60% from the original retail price. The items that the stores carry are new, used, and refurbished products. Factory second products are also offered, which means the selected items may have a cosmetic defect, but are new. The company is a separate entity from Sears, but still supplies Sears name brand and quality products. Locations offer a wide variety of merchandise including home appliances, tools, electronics, furniture and mattresses. Outdoor products such as lawn care, grills, and patio furniture are also available to customers. Sears Outlet offers brand name merchandise such as Kenmore, GE, and Samsung. Stores are set up with different departments, so customers can easily find products. The Outlet reflects the Sears model and is a large home service providers, but at a discount.
Sears Outlet - Young and profitable
Sears Outlet was founded when Sears did a spin off and created a seperate entity of its Outlet and Hometown stores in April 2012. There are 1,238 Outlet stores across all 50 states. This seperate enity was created to save money and combine other Sears stores into the Outlet store to ultimately save money for the customer. After only being a seperate entity for a year, Sears Outlet, as of February 2013, has a revenue of $631.2 million.
