Raley's - Family owned since 1935
Raley's was founded in 1935 by Tom Raley in Placerville, California. The company operates in California and Nevada under the Raley's, Bel Air, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source names. There are over 13,000 employees and the current CEO is Michael Teel, the founder's grandson. The founder's daughter and son-in-law are co-chairs on the board of directors and assumed ownership of the company in 1991, when Tom Raley passed away. There are 130 stores owned and operated under the Raley's umbrella, and 11 of those locations feature gas stations. The EPA awarded the company the Greenchill Partnership Gold-Level certification for eco-friendly refrigeration in 2009.
