Men's Wearhouse is a men's clothing store specializing in suits and formal wear. The company's product line features men's formalwear, outerwear, casual separates, and luggage. They have also launched a boy's line, supplying suits, blazers, dress shirts and shoes for young boys. The retailer carries a variety of brands, including Calvin Klein, Jones New York and Kenneth Cole. The company is known for its owner, George Zimmer, who appears in many commercials with the signature phrase, “you're going to like the way you look, I guarantee it.” Men's Wearhouse also offers tuxedo rentals for proms, weddings and other special occasions. The company started as a way to find suits and coats for men, but evolved to offer custom tailoring, tuxedo rentals and more. The brand has become synonymous with men's suits, and at one point, every 1 in 5 suits worn in the U.S. were purchased from Men's Wearhouse.
Men's Wearhouse - Men's clothing since 1973
Men's Wearhouse was founded in 1973 by George Zimmer and opened its first store in Houston, Texas. Men's Wearhouse is one of the most successful men's clothing stores in the United States. To attract male customers, who traditionally dislike shopping, Men's Wearhouse stores were exclusively located in larger, open-air strip malls instead of traditional shopping malls. By 1981, the retailer expanded outside of Texas and launched new stores in San Francisco. The company went public in 1992 and revenue exceeded $1 billion for the first time in 1998. Men's Wearhouse was named one of the “100 Best Companies to Work for” in America by FORTUNE Magazine six times in seven years.
