King Soopers - A Colorado chain
King Soopers was founded in 1947 in Colorado by Lloyd J. King. King founded the supermarket on a mission to offer friendly service, quality products and cleanliness. Over the next few years, the company proved sucessful and the company had nine stores along the Rocky's. In 1957, Dillion Companies acquired King Soopers, and around 30 years later, the company merged into Kroger. Today, King Soopers contributes to the Kroger family annual earnings of approximately 90 billion dollars a year.
