Herberger's - Since 1927
Herberger's was founded in 1927 in Osakis, Minnesota by George Herberger. The first stores carried clothing and offered budgeted merchandise catering to the middle class. In 1943, the company was incorporated in order to expand and acquire other companies in neighboring communities and states. By 1974, the company had 11 stores in four states. Over time, the company grew through acquiring companies, and established a presence in eight states across the west and midwest region. Eventually the company was bought by Bergner's and then by Bon Ton, in 2006.
