Gymboree - For all your childs needs and wishes
The Gymboree Cooperation began with the creation of Gymboree Play and Music in 1976. It was founded by Joan Barnes, a Californian mother looking for somewhere that offered parents a safe area in which to play and learn with their children. After looking, she found nothing, so she set up her own program. Its success led to the opening of the first chain of Gymboree apparel stores in 1986. Since then the cooperation has been designing, manufacturing and selling clothing for children between the ages of newborn and 12. The company is based in San Francisco but has stores across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. In 2010 Bain Capital acquired the company. In addition to the Play and Music programs, which now operate worldwide, the company has also introduced several other brands including Crazy 8 and Janie and Jack which respectively expand the company's reach in discount and luxury clothing.
