Dillons is a supermarket chain selling groceries. The company headquarters in located in Hutchinson, Kansas and operates largely in the Wichita and Topeka, Kansas areas. The retailer was founded in Sterling, Kansas in 1913 by Jonathan Dillon. The chain grew steadily until 1957, when the founder's son, Raymond Dillon, added more stores until they had over 300 convenience stores in 5 states. The Kroger Company acquired the retailer in 1983, but Dave Dillon, the grandson of founder Jonathan Dillon, assumed leadership of the grocery giant, serving as President, COO and CEO in 2003.
