Copps is a supermarket chain serving the state of Wisconsin. The company was founded in 1892 by Egbert Morton titled E.M. Copps & Company. By 1964, the retailer owned and operated 12 different locations in nine cities. In the 1990s, the retailer introduced bulk items and health food selections to remain competitive in the marketplace, competing with retailers like Whole Foods. Up until the early 2000s, Tom Copps, the family tie to the company, served as Executive Vice President for Public Affairs. The retailer was acquired by Roundy's Supermarket group in 2001. The company has its own distribution center in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and became publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange in 2012.
