Founded in 1995 by advertising company Bernstein-Rein and its CEO Bob Bernstein, Beauty Brands became the first retail company to combine a full service spa and retail company founded on the idea of providing a woman with a one-stop shop for all her beauty needs. In November of 2013 the company was in part bought out by Lyn Kirby, the former CEO of Ulta and the buyout group she works for based in California. She ended up replacing Bob Bernstein as CEO with Berstein still retaining a minorty interest in the company and Rich Bos becoming the president of the company. As of 2013, Beauty Brands has 55 locations in 11 states including Iowa, Illinois and Texas, and its headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri.
