Apple Store

Apple Store is a chain of retail stores selling Macintosh computers and consumer electronics. The retailer is famous for its line of iPods, iPads, iPhones and desktop and notebook computers. There are also accessories, such as electronics cases, iPhone skins, headphones and speakers. The company stores have most of their latest products on display in a way that allows consumers to try and play with different electronics before buying. Stores also feature the Genius Bar, where in-house experts provide technical support and consulting. You can also get products repaired at the Genius Bar. Most Apple Stores are located inside shopping malls, but there are a few free standing stores. The chain operates worldwide, but has its largest presence in the United States. Store openings often result in long lines around the building.

Apple Store - Innovation in the computer and electronics market

Apple launched the first Apple Stores in 2001 and now has stores in over 14 countries. Co-Founder Steve Jobs served as CEO of the company until his death in 2011. The company designs, develops, and sells all its electronics and was behind the wild popularity of mp3 players with the release of the iPod in 2001. The company was founded in 1976, but launched its own retail stores much later, after an innovation of new products revitalized the brand. The current CEO of Apple is Tim Cook. The company employs over 72,000 people worldwide and has approximately 400 retail stores. Their annual revenue in 2012 exceeded $156 billion.
