Abercrombie & Fitch - Casual clothing and accessories, as well as fragrances
Abercrombie & Fitch
Abercrombie & Fitch is a clothing and apparel retailer for men and women that helped coin the term “casual luxury.” They sell casual clothing and accessories including fragrances geared towards teenagers to young adults. From basic jeans and cotton shirts to jackets, shoes and personal care products, Abercrombie & Fitch assumes the role of a lifestyle brand. Their polos and t-shirts are easily recongnizable by their signature moose embroidery. They also carry athletic wear, such as yoga clothing, track and sweat suits, and swimsuits. The accessory section features handbags, belts, fashion scarves, hats and winter outerwear. Many describe the Abercrombie & Fitch aesthetic as classic American prep. Abercrombie & Fitch have three other related brands, abercrombie kids, Hollister, and Gilly Hicks.
Abercrombie & Fitch - A classic American brand
Abercrombie & Fitch was founded in 1892 by David Abercrombie and Ezra Fitch in New York, originally as a supplier of rugged, outdoor gear. By 1913, the company expanded to include sport clothing, and was the first store in New York to offer such clothing to both men and women. The company publishes a quarterly magazine/catalog in which their well-known grayscale, outdoors marketing photography features real employees instead of professional models. Abercrombie & Fitch operated 278 stores at the end of 2012, with plans for more launches to follow. The company's four brands combined operate over 1,000 stores in the U.S., Canada, London, Dublin, Milan, Copenhagen, Paris, Madrid, Brussels, Amsterdam, Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
